Port Hughes Caravan Park - Attractions

The town of Port Hughes near Moonta, was named after Sir Walter Watson Hughes , one of the founders of the Adelaide University. Port Hughes is a very popular place, which offers safe waters for swimming , boating , and water sports. One of the many past times for visitors to Port Hughes, is fishing off the jetty and enjoying a walk along one of the most scenic beaches on the Yorke Peninsula.

DAYTRIP SUGGESTIONS

Day one

Spend the day at the Moonta Mines or the Wheal Hughes Copper Mine, enjoy Moonta Tramways Trips or the Moonta Wildlife Park./p>

Day two

Visit Kadina including Matta House and Banking and Currency Museums, then spend some time at the Kadina and District Recreation Centre.

Day three

Go fishing from the Wallaroo jetty or select a good spot for some relaxation along North Beach. In the evening have a meal at one of the cafes.

Day four

Visit Innes National Park or spend the day fishing at Troubridge Point near Edithburgh.

Day five

Spend the day at the various Clare wineries and/or many superb small resaurants in the Clare Valley.

Day six

Head north and visit the shipping operations at Pt Pirie and stroll through the Customs House and Railway Museum.
